I made $20K whilst sitting on the beaches of Marbella

And this is how...

Hey Engineers,

Last week I made $20K whilst sitting on the beach in Marbella and this is how:

I worked 80 hour weeks for 5 years to build an agency that can run even when I’m not there.

Lol. Probably not what you wanted to hear but the clickbait headline needed a dose of reality.

Now for those who aren’t deluded and are willing to put in the work, here’s the actual blueprint without the shortcuts.

And some caveats:

  • That 16K doesn’t go to ‘me’. My salary didn’t change this week.

  • We’re well below the profit margin I want us to be.

  • We still have to deliver on that £16K.

  • This figure is based on a couple of project based clients won, retainer clients and won and our current LTV.

So how does this actually work? How do you really build a system that generates leads every week (without sending spammy DMs or posting cringey content)?

It all comes down to Influence.

You need to position yourself as an authority, build and audience and generate influence*. And you need a system that does it 24/7, even whilst you work on other areas of your business, or sit on the beaches of Marbella.

*This is not about becoming an influencer.

Here’s my 6 step framework for building your ‘Influence Engine’ and generating leads on repeat (without sacrificing authority).

I have built, tested, refined and perfected this system over the last 4-5 years and have used it to sign nearly 200 4-figure/month clients. It uses LinkedIn, because that is the best channel for acquiring B2B customers/clients in 2024, but you could apply the principles to any platform.

This will not get you success overnight. It doesn’t work like that. But it doesn’t have to take you 5 years like it took me. Implement everything below and it would be unreasonable for you not to generate a client in the next 90 days.

Step 1/6: Authority Positioning

No one buys from people they don’t trust.

Trust is the single most important factor in the sales process.

So if we want someone to buy from us - even listen to us, engage with us, pay attention to us before hand - we must be perceived as a trusted source of guidance. Someone credible.

See, the messenger matters. Who says something matters more than what they said.

Want your messaging to land? You need to be seen as ‘worth listening to’.

And actually deal has 3 sales:

  1. Convincing someone on the product

  2. Convincing someone on themselves

But before that…

  1. Convincing them on yourself

So, how do you create authority positioning.

  1. You need a ‘Frame’

A frame is a statement of credibility that provides irrefutable proof that you are well positioned to speak on this subject. Think previous results, milestones, stories, social proof.

Example - my frame is that I’ve generated over $2M and helped 200 entrepreneurs build their LinkedIn profiles.

  1. You need a Value Proposition

A value proposition tells your audience exactly what you can help them achieve - what’s in it for them.

You value proposition should be clear, concise and specific.

Use this is a structure: I help [audience] to [result] without [objection]

Example - I help coaches and consultants generate leads on LinkedIn without sacrificing their authority.

  1. You need a Positioning Statement

A positioning statement is your intention for how you want to be perceived. If I were to ask someone in your audience how they’d describe you in a year’s time, what would you want them to say? Condense this into a single sentence.

A positioning statement acts as a great reference point for everything else you do in this process. You can ask yourself, “Am I creating the right positioning?”

Once you have these 3 things you’ll have a solid foundation to build the rest of this system upon.

But don’t skip this. It’s not sexy, but everything else is pointless if you ignore it.

Part 2/6: Offers

The second thing you need if you want to turn LinkedIn into a lead machine is your offers.

When I say offers, most people think I just mean the product you provide to customers when they pay you.

But you’re actually making offers all the time, even when you don’t know it.

See, every interaction is an exchange of value.

Every exchange of value involves an offer.

When someone sees your content, you’re exchanging attention for insight.

When someone downloads your lead magnets, you’re exchanging contact info for knowledge.

When someone books a strategy call, you’re exchanging time for direction.

Offers are everywhere, and to maximise conversion rate you need to make sure your offers are appealing.

How? Quite simply, what they get out must far outweigh what they put in.

I find this thought exercises useful in ensuring you’re always tipping the scales in their favour:

For content, ask “Would I pay $50 for this?”

For lead magnets, ask “Is this better than my competitors paid stuff?”

For paid offers, ask “Would this still be worth it if I was charging 2x the price?”

Run through everything you’re offering to the market right now and ask these questions!

Part 3/6: Lead Generating Profiles

Your LinkedIn profile is one of the most important parts in your lead generation machine. It’s like a landing page, a pitch deck, a sales letter and a business card all in one.

Get it wrong and you’ll waste hours and hours driving traffic that doesn’t convert.

Get it right and it make you money while you sleep.

There are 3 key sections to your profile:

  • Your Header section

  • Your About section

  • Your Featured section

Plus a load of additional features/settings to be aware of.

To make things easy, I created this complete profile guide + checklist that you can use to optimise every element of your profile: https://bit.ly/3wCGAdS

Part 4/6: The Content Funnel

Here is the content strategy responsible for $2M in sales for my business.

It also helped our client Olly build a waitlist of clients worth over $70K/month

And Mike to sell $30K of consulting in the first 3 months of the year.

And Shan sell out his accelerator within 2 weeks of launching.

It’s tried and tested, but remarkably simple.

Really, to win clients on LinkedIn you just need to:

1). Make people aware we exist

2). Build trust with them

3). Make them an offer

Giving us 3 types of content to post:

1). Awareness
↳ Make people aware we exist

2). Consideration
↳ Build trust with them

3). Conversion
↳ Make them an offer

Post the right mix and you’ll have clients queuing up.

Let’s break down each one.

Awareness

This is broadly targeted industry advice/personal stories.
↳ Success = Easy to engage with
↳ Goal = grow audience
↳ Measure = Views/followers

Consideration

This is targeted content your niche, things like how-to’s, predictions, frameworks.
↳ Success = Shows expertise
↳ Goal = Nurture audience
↳ Measure = Engagement rate

Conversion

This should be hyper-specific to ICP, things like case studies, free guides, results
↳ Success = Feels like a no brainer
↳ Goal = Convert audience
↳ Measure = Leads/conversations

How often should you post each?

Rule of thumb:

40% Awareness
40% Consideration

20% Conversion

Stick to this for 6 months I guarantee you’ll grow your business.

(whilst becoming an authority in the industry)

I highly recommend using Taplio to get content inspiration, schedule ahead of time and analyse data on your content.

Part 5/6: Engage your network

Ever heard of Google’s 7/11/4 rule?

Google conducted a study and found that in order to buy from you a prospect needs 7 hours of interaction across 11 touchpoints and 4 locations with you before they buy.

That’s an indication of the importance of trust in 2024.

Those locations/touchpoints/interactions could be things like:

  • LinkedIn Content

  • YouTube videos

  • Emails

  • Calls

  • Texts

etc.

One way we quickly rack up our interaction volume and build trust with our network is by showing up in the circles they’re already in. To do this, you should find profiles they already follow and engage with their content. Every day leave 5-10 meaningful comments on posts from people with a similar audience to your target customers.

They’ll see that content, and your comment, and funnel over to your profile.

It’s the easiest way to rack up engagements and steal other people’s audiences.

Not sexy, but effective.

Part 6/6: Engage your network

I’ve sold over $2M for my business in the last 3 years without actually being THAT good at sales. In fact, I’d say in the grand scheme of things I’d say I’m a terrible salesperson.

So how do I get prospects turning up to calls WANTING to work with us and ready to spend 4 figures every month?

I use this lead nurture flow.

The first step is to connections off LinkedIn into a deeper engagement.

Truthfully, very few people will DM you on LinkedIn ready to buy.

They’re not ready to make that commitment yet. Working with you is a huge commitment, but engaging on your LinkedIn content is low commitment. There’s a huge commitment gap between the two that only about 5% of people will make.

For the other 95% we need to gradually increase the commitments they’re willing to make until they trust us enough to commit the whole way.

We do this by increasing the time, effort or money they commit to us gradually and give them slightly more information in return each time.

My favourite way to do this is with Scorecards, but you could also do:

  • Email courses (like this one - yup, you’re being nurtured…)

  • Lead magnets

  • Templates

  • Events

  • VSLs

Here’s my full Scorecard process so you can copy it.

Quick recap - we covered:

  1. Positioning yourself as THE authority in your niche

  2. Full funnel offers people can’t refuse

  3. Optimising your LinkedIn Profile for maximum conversion

  4. Creating content that gets leads queuing up

  5. Engaging with prospects to build trust

  6. Nurturing connections into clients

Now look, you’re welcome to build this whole system out on your own.

But I have created a community of entrepreneurs like you and I’m teaching them how to build and optimise it step by step.

Not only is the full process laid out step by step, but I also have exact templates for your profile, content, landing pages, funnels, emails and live calls every week to help you through the process and answer your questions.

It includes:

  • 6 Modules of step by step guidance

  • 60+ of high performing lead generating post templates ($297 value)

  • 200 viral plug & play hook templates ($397 value)

  • Weekly updated content prompts and hook templates ($99 value)

  • My exact Profile Template that generates leads every week ($297 value)

  • My exact funnels, email sequences and landing pages ($3999 value)

  • Weekly Live Calls ($1977 value)

It’s only $297 at the moment.

But after the next 17 members that join it’s going up to $497

You can join for as long as you want.

And if you implement everything but don’t get results in 90 days I’ll refund your money.

So you’ve got a couple of options:

  1. Spend the time doing all of this yourself

  2. Fast track the process and get hands on support

Totally up to you…
